VFW Post 2150 – The Lone Star Post

Community Service

The Lone Star Post is active with the following Community Service Events

Girl Scouts

Every year The Lone Star Post assists the Girl Scouts with cookie handouts. We unpack pallets, separate orders, and help load these orders into Troop Leaders' vehicles. Our volunteer efforts help local troops get the cookies to sell and distribute to customers all over North Texas. The sales and distribution of these cookies help young girls develop the confidence and skills to be future leaders and achievers of our society.

Toys for Tots

VFW's MG Unit 33 leads the Toys for Tots Ride for The Lone Star Post. This ride helps raise awareness, as well as receive donations. These donations come in form of unwrapped presents, which are delivered to economically challenged families and their children. In addition to the present donations, the MG Unit 33 raises money for the Toys for Tots program, which is used to assist these children to become responsible, productive, and patriotic citizens.

Bonham Vets Luncheon

Every year The Lone Star Post hosts lunch for Veterans located in Bonham, Texas. These lunches are spread out over the course of the year and typically host these Veterans once a quarter. The Lone Star Post likes to give back to those who sacrificed their time, youth, and health in service to great country.

First Responder Luncheon

Every year The Lone Star Post hosts lunch for various Police, Sheriff, and Fire Departments from Collin County, Texas. These lunches are spread out over the course of the year and typically host one department a month. The Lone Star Post likes to give back to the Civil Servants that protect, serve, and rescue our communities.
